Sounds more like freedom to be an ass in the name of religion. I'd cry foul if the church was stopped from ringing bells at/before church related events (e.g. Sunday, religious holidays, etc), but I've got many clocks in my house and car, so I don't need bells telling me what time it is. Plus I'm more of a gong guy.
I hear ya. I thought it was a bit over the top for the guy to want to ring the bells (recorded bells to boot) every half hour. Then he throws them a bone to only ring them every hour. How very generous of him. Me, I am more of ding person myself. Ding-bat that is.
